The Beginner Supplement Guide
What supplements actually are, what is worth buying first, and what you can skip.
What a supplement actually is
A supplement fills gaps -- it supplements a diet and training plan, it does not replace them. Nothing in a tub works without consistent training and reasonable nutrition behind it.
What is worth buying first
A protein powder (for hitting daily protein targets conveniently) and creatine monohydrate (one of the best-studied, most affordable supplements for strength and power) are the two most commonly recommended starting points. A daily multivitamin is a reasonable low-cost addition if your diet is inconsistent.
What can wait
Pre-workout, BCAAs, and more specialized recovery products are refinements for specific goals or training volumes -- useful eventually, not essential on day one.
Next step
If you are not sure where to start, the Supplement Finder asks three quick questions and recommends a starting stack, and the Stack Builder’s Beginner Strength Stack bundles the basics in one click.
