Hydration for Training
Water alone is not always enough once a session gets long, hot, or intense.
Why electrolytes matter
Sweat carries out more than just water -- sodium and other electrolytes go with it. For shorter, lower-intensity sessions plain water is usually enough; for longer or hotter sessions, electrolytes help the body actually hold onto the fluid you drink.
Everyday habits
Spreading fluid intake through the day, rather than loading up right before training, is generally easier on digestion and keeps you more consistently hydrated.
Signs to watch for
Dark urine, unusual fatigue, or a headache during/after training can be signs of under-hydration. Persistent symptoms are worth discussing with a doctor rather than guessing.
